I apologize if some of my columns over the years have seemed a bit negative or critical.  As a publication, we started up at a time when thought leaders pointed out the seemingly limitless potential to improve and modernize manufacturing.  

Opinions are like noses . . . everybody's got one. (That's the polite version of the maxim, of course.) Never has this been more true than about what to expect in pharma and the life sciences for 2012. We've been trolling the blogs and media outlets, and here is what 13 "experts" are saying about the coming year:

I’ve been attending BIO for about five years now, but the 2011 conference in Washington, D.C. last week was more subdued than I’d seen it. There was no sign of Bono, Elton John, movie stars or NBA players on the show floor, no media circus of the kind generated by Arnold Schwarzenegger a few years ago.
